Read my friend experiences with Fire Engine Toddler Bed
One of my friends go to the store and showed his choices for a toddler bed, and he
climbed in this Fire Engine Toddler Bed
We bought it and managed to lift up to the second floor bedroom.
It was easy, but her son was so excited to meet to "help", he kept moving the pieces around. Pushed his cot mattress legal support on the beam and on the 4 flat tops of the inner wheels.
The son is an active boy while he was still asleep, so that was the biggest concern beams. This has high bed sides basically everywhere, except where the engine for the doors would not be located.
The engine is front like a real cabin with 2 portholes room for a molded windshield and side "mirrors"-shaped covered with fun cartoon stickers. The entire back and sides are raised with molded fire truck props such as: tools, shoes and dials.

All surfaces are smooth and slightly textured. Although the boy jumped on the bed, he jumps well off the upper front and back. After an entire year of, the bed is still in great shape with no dents.
All parts are made of durable, thick plastic. The bed is heavy enough that the child can not move itself, but it is smooth enough land that I can slip it over the carpet, if I want to move them.
I expect that this will be enough beds for several years and then he will move to a regular mattress. He will have to be persuaded to sleep alone then.
Believe me, if we tried everything to him on his own sleep. He would keep waking up and finding walking with us. The conclusion is that my son loves his big boy bed! He climbs in and of it self, and finally remains in his own room!
