Teaching your baby to settle themselves to sleep could be the most important techniques that you learn at first bring your newborn home. It is absolutely fine comfort and caress your baby to sleep, but with age it can become a habit and will be the only way to know how your little asleep.

> From the age of 6 months is probably the best time to start teaching your baby to settle themselves (could begin as early as 3 months if you feel the time is right). One of the first things to do when you bring your baby home is starting to establish a routine. This routine will change slightly your baby grows, but the schedule remains the same basis.
Before placing your baby for a nap during the day, make sure they have a quiet time to relax. Babies sleeping resist if they are more stimulated or more tired. Look for signs of rubbing eyes, yawn or irritability and then get them to bed as soon as possible. Wait too long and your baby will have a difficult time to resolve. Each child will have a different sleep needs, but most babies four months to take up to three naps a day, 6 months, two naps a day.
They finally this fall to 1 nap when they are 18 months. Help your baby distinguish between day and night with different routines for naps during the day to night sleeping.

For example, I put my baby to sleep in another room during the day what I did during the night by the age of 3 months, he is aware that his basket was to sleep at night! The night time try bathing your baby to help them relax and read a book and then put them to bed drowsy but not asleep. In this way, they learn to put to sleep. If all else fails and your baby is still inconsolable sleep or take a nap time, do not worry, this does not mean you're not a good parent! Even the most timid babies can have bad days where everything you try simply not to work.
Try to take your baby for a walk in the stroller, the motion of the stroller May send out of sleep and fresh air will help you relax. If you really do not think you can take the most, then call a friend or relative, may be able to come and relieve you a little time, and perhaps even get your baby to sleep. May even if you think this is never ending and your baby will never get to sleep, finally make things better, it's simply a matter of time! Above all, do not stress because more than likely that your stress go on the baby, relax and enjoy every moment of your time as babies, believe me before you know the year of your baby's life is passed by and you wonder where the time has passed and what you stressed!
