Two friends recently asked how my daughters goes to bed at 8:00 pm each night on their own. Here are some tips:
a) find a book with the children about sleep and read to the child during the day for naps and at night
b) keep to a routine, when my 2 year old had a rough time "leave" for reading in bed, I started doing the timer. I tell her she has 10 minutes to play or read a book then it is time for the bath. I set the microwave timer and after a few days she got it. (I do the same for his nap before.)
c) Before when she learned to open the door she had left her room if we closed the door of his room with a child proof button immediately cover and take its rightful return to the room and not speak and a hug back in bed.
d) What if he gets the same time every night? Beat him / her to the punch: Set your alarm clock to wake you up at (this time saying that it is 1:45 am), sitting at his bedroom door when he gets up to 2 as you say it does Him right back to bed and say good night. (We did this when our oldest pot was found and the training she had to do # 1 at 4:30 am so she would not wet the bed)
e) share beds children if they are at the same time (if it does well it is not necessary to leave behind the other place to put our whole 2 girls did not work for us)
f) something that I find that the girls are up too late (when they want to nap between 4 or 5) and not quite tired during the day, then when it came close to 7:40 is not quite tired ; My solution was I woke up on 9, is out of 10-1, to 2.4 never nap past 5:30, they are in bed by 8.
